The cul-de-sac Residence is so named and curved in shape due to its location. Its architect has utilised the natural curvature of the land to create a spatial experience through internal gardens and plenty of free space. The concave entrance is highlighted with a rustic exposed brick wall that leads to an open pavilion living and dining space with garden strips on either side. This feeling of continuity in the pavilion is achieved through a beamless space that’s created by using straight upstanding beams on the upper level. The edges of the upper-level terrace are used as planters, which provide greenery for the master bedroom. This space opens out onto a terrace that appears to float above the pavilion below and is adorned with greenery on either side of the linear walkway. A sloping roof creates a large spatial volume with a feature exposed brick wall, which provides an earthy and rustic visual to enhance the space, and produces a homely ambience. The earthy and rustic undertones complement simple white plastered walls that are paired with colourful elements and greenery to create a comfortable domain in a tropical environment.
