Hameedia brings top experts to conduct educational sessions for female employees on key topics

Hameedia, Sri Lanka’s leading menswear brand that is synonymous with style and quality, marked International Women’s Day with a special knowledge-sharing event for all of its female employees at the Head Office in Ratmalana on 8th March. The event was the highlight of a series of sessions Hameedia is conducting throughout the months of February and March focused on educating its female workforce and covering a wide selection of related topics including hygiene and grooming, women’s rights, sexual harassment and online safety and health and wellness.

The event, which was attended by around 400 female employees of Hameedia, witnessed informative presentations on different areas vital to women made by leading female personalities in different fields. Ramani Fernando, an iconic figure in the hair and beauty industry in Sri Lanka, conducted a special session on personal grooming where she provided the audience with advice and guidance on how to groom oneself to look good every time. Attorney-at-Law Naushalya Rajapaksha from The Yeheliya Foundation educated the audience about women’s rights and women empowerment, both in the workplace and in their daily lives as they navigate through today’s complex society. The Yeheliya Foundation is a charitable foundation which strives to create a space for young girls and women from different walks of life to strive towards creating an equal platform for their female counterparts. Additionally, Indira Cancer Trust (ICT) Foundation Trustee Attorney-at-Law Yenuka Premarathne conducted a session on the importance of personal health and the latest information on the dangers of breast cancer along with how one should tackle this dangerous disease. Following the conclusion of the event, all participants were presented with gifts.
