Beginning with a childhood fondness for calendar pictures of European cityscapes and later graduating from the University of Moratuwa with a degree in architecture, Damith Premathilake is an accomplished architect who incorporates nature – as well as minimalism – into the simple and elegant spaces he designs.

Inspired by his draftsman grandfather and directed to the field of architecture by his father, Jaya-nath Silva is the Joint Managing Director and CEO of Genesis Design. Having worked under the late great Deshamanya Geoffrey Bawa and acknowledging him as a role model, mentor and guru, Silva pursues his penchant for minimalistic buildings, which he says brings inner peace and a sharper focus for their occupants. But this doesn’t prevent him from creating more eclectic designs; his fusion architecture in traditional and modern form, as well as low-cost buildings, stand as a testament to his skills.

With four generations of architects in his family, Nilesh De Silva has an innate aptitude for design and a flair for creativity. Since his first visit to a construction site at the age of four, he has pursued a passion to qualify as a chartered architect. He currently works with a talented team at Kahawita De Silva & Associates, which is the family owned practice established in 1979.
